Lent and Easter

Lent is not as somber as you might think!

Sure, many Christians give something up for Lent, but really this is like a 40-day retreat of more focused prayer, reflection, and acts of kindness as we get ready for the biggest holy day of all...Easter.

Holy Week is the center of our year.

Beginning with the evening of Maundy Thursday and continuing through Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday, the "Three Days" are the best days for Christians. They are the heart and soul of our worship life as we commemorate and celebrate the last days and resurrection of Jesus.

Easter Services - Sunday, April 16 - 8:00 AM & 10:30 AM

Worship in the Garden at 8:00 am.

Easter Workshop and Egg Hunt beginning 9:00 am. Please bring a dozen stuffed eggs to share. There will be activities and breakfast for the family while the eggs are hidden in the garden. Hunt will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Spirited Traditional Worship at 10:30 am.

The 50 Days of Easter (Easter to Pentecost) are a time of great celebration for Christians as we rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus.

“Fifty days are a ‘week of weeks,’ seven times seven with a day added so Eastertide has eight Sundays - a mystical sign of eternity. Each week we have a Lord’s Day. And each year we have Eastertide - 50 days to sing alleluia, 50 days to live as if God’s rule of justice and peace were fully with us.” (Companion to the Calendar)
