Opportunities to Worship
Service of Worship, December 1 at 10:30 a.m. 1st Sunday of Advent. Rev. Bob Scott will lead worship. Lectionary Text: Isaiah 2:1-5; Psalm 122; Romans 13:11-14; Matthew 24:36-44. Communion will be served.
Service of Worship, December 8 at 10:30 a.m. 2nd Sunday of Advent. Rev. Bob Scott will lead worship. Lectionary Text: Isaiah 11:1-10; Psalm 72:1-7, 18-19; Romans 15:4-13; Matthew 3:1-12. Installation and Ordination of New Leaders.
Service of Worship, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. 3rd Sunday of Advent. Service of Lessons and Carols. Lectionary Text: Isaiah 35:1-10; Psalm 146:5-10 or Luke 1:46b-55; James 5:7-10; Matthew 11:2-11.
Service of Worship, December 22 at 10:30 a.m. 4th Sunday of Advent. Rev Bob Scott will lead worship. Lectionary Text: Isaiah 7:10-16; Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19; Romans1:1-7; Matthew 1:18-25. Junior Bell Choir plays during worship.

Handbell Choir Rehearsal on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

Warm-up on Sunday Morning at 9:45 a.m.
Concert Series, December 8 at 3:00 p.m. "The Best of Holiday Vocals" The Saint Petersburg College Madrigallians will treat us to a real sampler of holiday favorites. Reception to follow.
Presbyterian Women Bake Sale, December 8, before and after worship. Tasty cakes, pies, cookies and more need a good home!
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), Thursday, December 12—Moliere at 10:30 a.m. (Riet Van der Pol)
Peace Pals, Wednesday, December 18—Rocketts at the Straz Center. Tickets have already been purchased. Contact Carol Lankton if you would like to be added to the cancellation list.
Opportunities To Serve
Peace Café, Thursday Evenings. Consider volunteering with this outreach program that feeds the local hungry a warm meal. Servers needed the first three Thursdays of the month. (Bill Trautwein, 727.463.6916)
RCS Food Bank. Continue to drop off your donations of non-perishable food items in any of the baskets located throughout the church. Everyday household items and toiletries are also accepted as donations. Remember to shop the “Buy One Get One Free” sales for RCS!
Prayer Shawl Knitting Group, Thursday, December 19 at 9:30 a.m. Interested in learning to knit? Join the women in the Magnolia Room to knit items for the homeless such as hats, scarves, gloves, prayer shawl and blankets. (Jan Francis)
Cold Night Shelter. When the weather drops below 40৹ the cold night shelter opens to help our homeless neighbors. Many hands are needed to support this program. Contact Deacon Chris Bowers today to sign up for volunteer team. CNS will take any donations of gently used jackets, sweatshirts and new socks.
Pack-a-Sack, every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Pack-a-Sack provides backpacks of food for the weekend to children who qualify for free lunches. We need your help with donations and in preparing the backpacks of food every Wednesday (Carlos Rodriquez).
Opportunities to Grow
Sisters’ Bible Study, Wednesday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m. “Listening to Scripture Strategies for Interpreting the Bible”. Class will not meet on December 18. (Lynn Maloney)
Men’s Bible Study, Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. (Dan Johnson)
Early Bird Bible Study, Wednesday mornings at 8:00 a.m. Rev. Bob Scott continues a study about Paul’s missionary journey. Breakfast at Country Harvest follows. (Frank Wolling)
Children’s Enrichment. Children (age– 4 and up) gather following the Children’s Message to enrich their worship experience in ways that are meaningful to this particular age group. (Kelly Fitzgerald)
Cradle Roll. Volunteers share a story with our babies and toddlers in the nursery on Sunday Mornings. (Kelly Fitzgerald)
Splash! Curriculum. Monthly newsletter delivered to your home to enhance faith development of your child (or grandchild) from birth-36 months. Contact Paula in the church office to add a child to the list. Need birthdate and mailing address.
Sunday School for All. Classes begin around 9:00 a.m.
Adult Forum— Bible-based class with focused studies on Nehemiah and Ezra.
Coffee and Discussion—Discussion based-class based on a timely issue over a second cup of coffee meets in Roebling Hall
Older Children and Youth — “I Know My Bible” meets in the Youth Room (upstairs).
Younger Children— “Holy Moly” meets in Enrichment Room (upstairs).
Nursery Care—for our youngest disciples.
