Pack A Sack
Pack-A-Sack 4 Kids: Fighting Hunger and Food Insecurity one kid and one school at a time
"Pack-A-Sack" is a community outreach program of United Methodist Cooperative Ministries/Suncoast, Inc. The program is designed to help address the problem of chronic hunger among elementary age children in our public schools. This has been estimated to be approximately 15% of all children eligible for free lunch. This program is entirely funded by donations.
Every week during the school year, Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church participates in this program by packing a weekend take-home "Sack" for 60 students at a local elementary school. Selected by the school's authorities, these students receive healthy food items to help with meals during non school days (August-June). This program is funded in part by the church Deacons and in part by the generosity of individual donors.
For more information or to offer to help pack the sacks, please contact Deacon Carlos Rodriquez by calling the church office.
