Not sure what to expect in Presbyterian worship? Here is a quick overview:
Order of Worship
Gathering Around the Word - we begin with a welcome and some announcements. We begin to prepare our hearts and minds for worship with music and prayer.
Praise of God's People - we continue in worship through song and a prayer of confession. After we confess we are assured of God's grace through an assurance of forgiveness.
The Word - we now hear scripture and a sermon. This helps us grow and understand God's Word to us. After we hear the lessons we have a chance to respond by together saying an Affirmation of Faith.
Our Grateful Response - we respond to God through offering ourselves in prayer and giving. On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate the Lord's Supper (Communion).
Going in Peace - this isn't the end of worship... but the beginning! We are sent out in the world to continue to proclaim the God's love.
